Mrs. Maureen Word Williams, age 75, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. She was born August 24, 1938 in Roopville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Rufus Word and the late Mrs. Viola Farmer Word. She worked as a cosmetologist and was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard Wesley Williams; son, Ricky Harper; brothers, Barney Word, Frank Word, Curl (RL) Word, CB Word, and Doc Word; and sisters, Lois Williamson, Eunice Pope, Bonnie Futch and Norma Word. She is survived by a son, Roger Harper of Lithia Springs; sisters, Wilma Williams of Carrollton and Eubie Turner of Lithia Springs; brothers, Robby Word of Bowdon and Mac Word of Mableton; three grandchildren, Steve Harper, Amy Harper, and Carrie Harper Phillips; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, March 3, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Shattles officiating.
