Mr. Max Ryland Hill, age 74, of Winston, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012. He was born February 21, 1938 in Commerce, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Charlie Y. Hill and the late Mrs. Beulah Mae Watson Hill. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years as an Airman 1st Class and 1 year in Korea, receiving the good conduct and outstanding unit award. Mr. Hill served as the assistant Chaplain for the Douglas County Jail and was a Deacon at Cowan Mill Baptist Church. He retired from the American Freight Systems after many years.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Emory Hill and Harrison W. Hill; sister, Dessie Mae Payne.He is survived by his wife, Mildred Johnson Hill of Winston; daughters and son-in-law, Christina Lynn and Donald Turner, Pamela Jeanette Hill; sister, Geneva Vernelle Hill of Douglasville; two grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Turner of Winston, Erin Jeanette Turner of Winston. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 3,2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ikey Watson and Rev. Tom Kaplan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Honorary Escort will be provided by Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
