Mr. Max Wix, 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born September 29, 1941 in the New Georgia community of Paulding County, the son of the late Mr. Luther Wix and the late Mrs. Deedie Lenora Caldwell Wix. He worked in the construction industry and was a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville. A very witty, fun loving man, he was devoted to family. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed racing, especially dirt track racing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Hooks and son, Michael Clements; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Goss Wix of Douglasville; daughter, Cheryl Collins of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Nunnally of Marietta and Alan and Joy Nunnally of Ephesus; daughter-in-law, Beverly Clements of Winston; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Wix of Lawrenceville and Martha and Alfred Smith of Douglasville; sister-in-law, Mary Wix of Douglasville; nine grandchildren, Jason, Layla, Scott, Jonathan, Tessa, Melissa, Becky, Elizabeth, and Payton; seven great-grandchildren, Grant, Keira, Evangeline, Aaron, Liam, Lucien, and Sophia; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, 1651 S. Burnt Hickory Road, Douglasville, GA 30134. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating.
