Mrs. Maxine Dial Smith, 89, of Temple, Georgia passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born September 15, 1928 in Cherokee County, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. Fred A. Dial and the late Mrs. Effie Allgood Dial. She was a graduate of Villa Rica High School. She worked at Golden City Hosiery Mill in the office. God created her with a giving heart and her great vocation was as a Pastor’s wife. She devoted her life to serving the Lord, the church, and her family. She was a Proverbs 31 Woman who cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family, church family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce S. Horne; and her twin sister, Betty Kathleen Dial. She is survived by her beloved husband, Rev. Ivers L. Smith of Temple; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Roger Luke of Villa Rica and Deborah and Rev. Steve Willingham of Wray, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Marion Smith Sr. of Villa Rica; son-in-law, William Horne, Jr. of Douglas, GA; sister, Virginia Dial Boyton of Villa Rica; six grandchildren, Daniel L. Smith, Jr. of Douglas, GA, Hannah Christine Horne Owens of Mayo, FL, Jason Steve Willingham of Fitzgerald, GA, Katie Elizabeth Horne Young of Wray, GA, Justin Ryan Willingham of Ocilla, GA, and Jennifer Brooke Luke Powers of Villa Rica; eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, October 9, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Luke, Rev. Steve Willingham, Rev. Daniel Smith, Jr. and Rev. Justin Willingham officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with Rev. Ryan Powers and Rev. Adam Young officiating. A special violin selection will be provided at the graveside service by her great-grandchild, Andrew Owens. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Willingham, Mark Owens, William Horne, Jr., Adam Young, Ryan Powers, and Kevin Boynton. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerome Smith, Grant Boynton, Jared Boynton, and Shane Banks. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
