Melanie Leigh Gresham August 4, 1971 – September 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Melanie Leigh Gresham, who passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 55.

Melanie was a quiet, gentle, and loving soul who cherished spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Harley. She enjoyed shopping and collecting angels to decorate her home. She also had a deep love for all animals, and her cat Harley brought immeasurable joy and companionship to her life.

Behind Melanie’s quiet and gentle nature was a wonderful sense of humor. She had a special way of making people laugh, often when they least expected it. Her quick wit, playful personality, and ability to find humor in everyday moments brought smiles and laughter to those around her. Those who knew Melanie will remember not only her kind and caring heart, but also the laughter and joy she brought into their lives.

Melanie attended Lithia Springs High School. Her love and passion for caring for others led her to pursue a career in healthcare, where she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. She spent many years working with Ridgeview Institute and Wellstar Tranquility Hospice.

Melanie truly had a servant’s heart. Her love for helping and caring for others was a defining part of who she was. Her selfless compassion, kindness, and dedication to those in her care were evident in everything she did. She found meaning in making a difference in the lives of others and gave of herself generously.

Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Gresham. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Susan Gresham of Canton, Georgia; daughter, Hannah (Daniel) Gresham, and granddaughter, Elise, of Dallas, Georgia; son, Blake Bowling of Douglasville, Georgia; sister, Michelle (Rehman) Sewani, and niece, Emily, of Canton, Georgia; brother, Mark (Karen) Gresham, and nieces, Holliann and Gracie, of Dallas, Georgia; niece, Savannah (Michael) Staton, and great-nephew and great-niece, Brady and Hartlee Jo, of Rockmart, Georgia; and devoted family friend Jennifer (Paul) Gentile of Woodstock, Georgia.

Melanie’s gentle spirit, caring heart, wonderful sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family and the lives she touched will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her kindness will be remembered, her laughter will be missed, and the memories she created will be treasured forever.

The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life for Melanie in the near future. Details will be shared at a later date.
