Mrs. Melba King Kilburn, 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was born December 7, 1930 in Blakely, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Rufus Rural King and the late Mrs. Vera Iris Brightwell King. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway United Methodist Church. She served as a Pastorâs wife for many years and assisted her husband in the ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Phillip Kilburn and Michael Kilburn; and sister, Alfrieda Jarrett. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Walter Eugene Kilburn of Douglasville; nieces and nephews, Angie and Leo Wells of Johnâs Creek, Iris and Ed Richards of Gainesville, Mack Jarrett of Douglasville, Eric and Debbie Jarrett of Panama City, FL; several great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family members. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be conducted Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Midway United Methodist Church in Douglasville.
