Melissa Kay Cole

Melissa Kay Cole, 65, of Villa Rica, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She was born on May 20, 1959, the daughter of the late Harl Cole and the late Vesta Haley Cole.

Melissa was a proud business owner of a plastic fabrication company. Her commitment to her work was matched by her unwavering love for her family. She nurtured her loved ones and she was an amazing cook. She shared countless meals filled with laughter and cherished memories. Her interests extended beyond the kitchen; she loved music, particularly classic rock. She also enjoyed gardening. Melissa had the ability to fix anything that needed mending. She made it look easy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Anthony Cole and Paul Wayne Cole; sister, Valerie Carlucci; nephew Leon Carlucci, niece Megan Carlucci; adopted sons, Bobby and Matt Ingram; and special friends Mitch Ingram and Ricky Oliver.

She is survived by her daughters, Emily Bumgarner of Brookhaven and Haley (Brian) Scott of Monrovia, California; son, Daniel Bumgarner of Hiram; sister, Pamela Overton of Marietta; brother, Kendrix Cole of Dallas, GA; two grandchildren; special friends, Cheryl Ingram and Kathi Seiwert of Paulding; as well as several nieces, nephews, and countless other adopted family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery.
