Mellie Faith Lowther, 93, of Dallas and Cross Lanes, West Virginia, entered the arms of Jesus on November 3, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1931, the daughter of the late James S. Lovett and Faith Legg Lovett.

She was a soft spoken Christian lady who never said an unkind word to anybody. She enjoyed playing cards and screen porch activities. She always had an open heart to anyone needing a place to stay. Her home was a sanctuary for many, a place where all were welcomed with open arms. Mellie's unwavering commitment to aiding to those in need defined her character and left a lasting impression on the countless lives she touched. She also loved boating and being on the water. Throughout her life, Mellie found immense joy in simple pleasures, particularly swimming and going to the beach, brought her happiness. Family, friends, and strangers alike were drawn to her warmth and selflessness, finding comfort in her presence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike Massey and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Lowther. 

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Lowther Massey, Lorna and Bob Austin; son, Robert F. Lowther; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating.

Mellie Faith Lowther will be remembered not only for her gentle spirit but also for the love she shared and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
