Melvin Andrew Fernander, Sr.

Melvin Andrew Fernander, Sr., 89, of Villa Rica, passed away on September 16, 2022. He was born on June 13, 1933. He is the son of the late Robert James Fernander and the late Vera Sudduth Fernander.

Melvin was a family man who enjoyed doing yard work, woodworking, and restoring cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Fernander, Ronnie Fernander, Randy Fernander and Jimmy Fernander and his sister, Lorena Fields. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Peggy Fernander; daughter and son in law Shree and Johnny Strickland of Bowdon; sons and daughters in law Mel and Terri Fenanander, Jr., of Carrollton, Joey and Linda Fernander of Temple, Brantley and Nan Fernander of Carrollton; sisters, Joyce Ann and Herb Franklin of Villa Rica, Penny and Don Camp of Villa Rica; brother, Johnny Fernander of Villa Rica; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel.
