Melvin Hiers

Mr. Melvin Franklin Hiers, 78, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta. He was born September 22, 1937 in Moultrie, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Willie Jackson Hiers and the late Mrs. Janie Logan Hiers. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a funeral director for many years and then as a security guard at Grady Hospital. He was a Christian by faith. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Marion Hiers of Temple, GA; sister, Betty Lewis of Alexandria, VA; several nieces and nephews.
