Mr. Melvin Alton Johnson, 84, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1931 in Anniston, Alabama. Mr. Johnson was a hardworking man with a strong work ethic. He worked as a builder in the construction industry and he enjoyed mechanic work on cars. He was devoted to family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Esta Lee Leonard Johnson of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Tony Wright of the Sand Hill Community; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Teresa Johnson of the Sand Hill Community, Wayne and Renee Johnson of Douglasville, Jim and Tabitha Johnson of Carrollton, and Chris Smith of the Sand Hill Community; nine grandchildren, Brandi, Jason, Josh, Brittani, Amanda, Tim, Tawyna, Chris and Raquel; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at the Douglasville City Cemetery.
