Mrs. Meredith âRitaâ Tant Todd, age 78, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at her home. She was born November 15, 1938 in Montgomery, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. William Paul Tant and the late Mrs. Essie Mae Heywood Tant. She retired as a Comptroller with AT&T. She loved knitting and making prayer shawls. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville and was a member of Kingâs Daughters at Beulah. She volunteered for the BellSouth Pioneers Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Buddy Lawrence White; second husband, Donald âDonâ Ray Todd, Sr.; brother, Eddie C. Tant; and a sister, Lois Harper. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Kent Quinn of Whitesburg, Gail and Tim Sweatman of Lithia Springs, and Linda and Steve Nieznany of Lithia Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nell and Ned Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, Juanita and Curtis Sanford of Birmingham, AL, and Carol and Dan Troche of Hiawassee, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Ann Tant of Eaton, GA and Jimmy and Linda Tant of Villa Rica; eleven grandchildren, Joshua Quinn, Jordan Quinn, Brandon Nieznany, Victoria Sweatman, Alexander Sweatman, Christopher Rigby, Kristin Rigby, Josh Todd, Brittany Todd Cox, Paige Nieznany, and Joey Todd; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Jeff Overton officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Hope Smith, Kim Taube and Sandra McKown. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Rigby, Josh Todd, Brandon Nieznany, Alexander Sweatman, Joshua Quinn, and Jordan Quinn.
