Michael Duane Shiflett

Mr. Michael Duane Shiflett, age 57, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at WellStar Douglas Hospital. He was born June 9, 1953 in Cedartown, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. William Larry Shiflett, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lula Pace Shiflett. He was a member of God’s Perfect Church in Villa Rica and he worked as a route salesman for Little Debbie. Mr. Shiflett was an avid fan of Georgia Football and enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. He loved the Lord and was devoted to his church. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Chastain Shiflett of Douglasville; one son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Karen Shiflett of Tallahassee, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and L.J. Carruth of Powder Springs; brother, William Larry Shiflett, Jr. of Tyler, TX; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Joe Feathers, Sr. officiating. Inurnment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens in Powder Springs. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated.
