Mr. Michael Joseph Gardner, 60, of Kodiak, Alaska passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born August 29, 1953 in Huntington, Indiana the son of Mrs. Joanne C. Landrigan Gardner and the late Lt. Col. Jack Otto Gardner. He served proudly in the United States Air Force for 10 years. He was the senior health inspector for the State of Alaska, retiring in 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. Jack Otto Gardner; brothers, Jack Otto Gardner, Jr., and Steven Paul Gardner; and nephews, Kevin Michael Hodges, Brent Allen Gardner, and Mark Henry Miller. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Sue Nyholm Gardner of Kodiak, Alaska; two daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl Danita and William Randall Fike of Newnan and Jessica Gardner and her fiancé, Nicholas Robert Sullivan of Kodiak, Alaska; son, Jeremiah Gardner of Kodiak, Alaska; his mother, Joanne C. Landrigan Gardner of Douglasville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Mike Mitchell of Panama City, FL, Kathy and Robin Brown of Douglasville, GA, Lorie and Randy Bomar of Winston, GA, Maggie and Russell Roper of Douglasville, GA, Linda and JR Miller of Douglasville, GA; five brothers and sisters-in-law, David Gardner of Winston, GA, Dennis and Sandy Gardner of Douglasville, GA, Patrick and Jeannie Gardner of Waco, GA, Jimmy and Kristi Gardner of Douglasville, GA, and Jeffrey and Beth Gardner of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Lauren Michelle Fike, Megan Nicole Fike, Madisyn Robin Sickafoose, and Jacob Walter Sickafoose; 39 nieces and nephews; 34 great-nieces and great-nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Born Again Ministries, 158 Grieson Trail, Newnan, Georgia with Pastor Tony Grant officiating and Lorie Bomar and Jimmy Gardner providing eulogies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of his beloved granddaughter, Madison Sickafoose, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 5130 40th Avenue NE, Seattle, Washington 98105.
