Michael Smith

Mr. Michael Glenn Smith, 65, of Morganton, Georgia, formerly of Atlanta, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. He was born December 15, 1951 the son of the late Mr. Jesse Guy Smith and the late Mrs. Dorothy Marie Blalock Smith. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a supervisor with UPS. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Alisha Smith-Otey and Troy Lankford of Lithia Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Jennifer Smith of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Denise Smith of Kennesaw; nine grandchildren, LeeAnn, Jaylen, Cole, Corey, Jaycob, Hannah, Gabrielle, Abigail, and Tristan; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Aubrey; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in celebration of his life at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory of Douglasville, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. According to Mr. Smith’s wishes, his body was cremated. For those sending floral tributes, the family has requested green plant baskets or arrangements only.
