Mrs. Mildred Carter, age 79, of Villa Rica, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. She was born November 29, 1931 in Rockmart the daughter of the late Mr. Lonnie Elmer Barber and the late Mrs. Savannah Knight Barber. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Tabernacle Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Barber and David Barber; sisters, Ruth Barber and Edna Barber. She is survived by her sisters, Alice Syman of St. Augustine, FL, Elma Jo Rogers of Smyrna, Faye Goolsby of Villa Rica, Margean Green of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Lonnie D. Barber of Rockmart, and Jimmy Barber of Temple. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Victory Tabernacle Church in Villa Rica with Rev. Roger Luke and Rev. Larry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Polk County. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
