Milburn Jonathan Cartwright

Milburn Jonathan Cartwright, Jr., 82, of Villa Rica, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born December 19, 1943, he was the son of Milburn Jonathan Cartwright, Sr. and Gertrude Kelly Couch.

Milburn severed in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam war era. He worked 35 years as a Construction Superintendent and seven years as Head of Maintenance at First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Villa Rica and enjoyed fishing and watching the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Bobby Atkins of Ohio, and stepsister, Betty Lynn of Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Harp Cartwright; children, Milburn Jonathan Cartwright III (Stephanie) of Villa Rica and Timothy Lee Cartwright of Gunnison; and grandchild, Carrie Chesnee Cartwright.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with a memorial service at 2:00 PM with Dr. John Pennington and Dr. Joe Tanner officiating.
