Mildred Rainwater

Mrs. Mildred Loyd Rainwater, age 81, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Henry Medical Center. She was born December 29, 1929 in Villa Rica, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Harvey Cage Loyd and the late Mrs. Mary Pauline Godfrey Loyd. She worked as a machine operator for Quality Park. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Willis Rainwater on April 19, 2011; and her sisters, Patricia Worthan, Betty Nixon, Joanne Hogue, and Carol Loyd. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Michael Meredith and Rebecca and Jack Haunson all of McDonough; 2 grandchildren, Michael Meredith, Jr. and Wendy Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, December 2, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Kenneth Hennessey officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Mr. Bob Holland. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville with the following serving as pallbearers: Johnny Wayne Nixon, Michael Meredith, Sr., Michael Meredith, Jr., Jack Haunson, Roy Sprewell, and Ben Taylor.
