Mrs. Mildred Thomas Walton, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, December 13, 2010. She was born March 1, 1925 in Douglasville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Solomon Thomas and the late Mrs. Willie Miles Thomas. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Walton was a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Carl Walton; two brothers, Miles Thomas and James Thomas; two sisters, Nell Moses and Doris Hatcher. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Padgett of Douglasville; son, David Walton of Douglasville; brother, Joe Thomas of Douglasville; five grandchildren, Jeff Thompson, Jennifer Moreland, Amy Thompson, Hannah Walton, and Joseph Walton; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, River Moreland, Dylan Moreland, Keighley Thompson and Skye Thompson; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Wayne Bray officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Laurie Johnson and will be accompanied by Charlotte Lockhart pianist. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
