Mildred Whitson

Mrs. Mildred Louise Whitson, age 72, of Douglasville passed away Friday, July 1, 2011. She was born May 3, 1939 in Fulton County the daughter of the late Mr. Fred James Padgett and the late Mrs. Nancy Brandon Padgett. She retired from Burnett Elementary School after many years of teaching. She is a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Malcolm Whitson; brother, Leon Padgett; sister, Jackie Cauder. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Craig and Debora Whitson of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Dot Padgett of Newnan; two grandchildren, Garrett Whitson and Autumn Whitson of Douglasville; sister-in-law, Elenor Padgett. Six nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Terry Marbut officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Mrs. Hazel McJunkin. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Harold Morris, Jeff Childers, Paul Barker, Jerry McJunkin, Tommy Padgett, and Keith Padgett.
