February 18, 1956 — June 2, 2025

Douglasville

Millard Lee Ferguson, affectionately known as Lee, departed this world on June 2, 2025, in the comfort of his home at the age of 69. He was born on February 18, 1956, in Austell, Georgia, to the late Mr. Paul Tanner Ferguson and the late Mrs. Ethel June Bishop.

Lee led a life filled with purpose, love, and dedication to helping others. He was a true embodiment of kindness, characterized by his quirky sense of humor, quiet character, strength, and generosity.

Lee dedicated his life to his career as an electrician, a profession he excelled in at the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport. With immense pride, he installed nearly 2 million lights throughout the expansive airport, contributing to the bright experiences of countless travelers. His passion for his work earned him numerous awards, a testament to his professionalism and diligence.

Beyond his professional life, Lee cherished the joy of giving. His home was a gathering place, especially during Thanksgiving when he hosted family and friends, and made delicious meals that showcased his love for cooking.

As a devoted family man, Lee took great pride in his grandchildren. In his leisure time, Lee adored gardening, and he enjoyed watching television, particularly military movies and baseball as Lee was an unwavering Atlanta Braves fan.

Lee's life was made all the more memorable by a unique encounter; many years ago, he had the distinct honor of meeting President Jimmy and First Lady Rosalynn Carter, sharing dinner with them on two occasions—a cherished experience he held dear.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of over 46 years, Mrs. Vonda Ferguson; sons, Steven (Shannon) Ferguson, and Jeremy (Ashley) Ferguson; 4 grandchildren, Anna, Landon, Austin and Katelyn; brother, Gerald Ferguson; as well as extended family and friends.
