Mrs. Minnie Faye O’Kelley Rice, 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born May 14, 1938 in Carrollton, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Frank Raymond O’Kelley and the late Mrs. Laura Ruth Sinyard O’Kelley. She worked as a knitting operator at Villa Rica Knitters for many years. She had a caring heart. She loved all animals but especially enjoyed taking care of cats. She was a faithful Christian woman who loved to watch Christian broadcasting shows and listen to her audio Bible. She loved playing the piano. She was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Arlen Rice; brother, Frank Raymond O’Kelley, Jr.; and sisters, Christine Glenda Self, Mildred Louise Arrington, and Ruby Lucille West. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Kathy O’Kelley of Douglasville; nieces and nephews, Renee and Tim Amee of Douglasville; Shannon and Ron Biles; brother-in-law, Bruce West; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tiffany and Daniel Sexton of Douglasville, Lindsey and Michael Monterroso of Whitesburg, and Brittany Biles; great-great niece, Paisley; great-great nephew, Silas; several additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A special thanks to special friends, Anthony, Regina, and Jordan Monterroso and Sandy and Steve Baal for your care and friendship. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home & Crematory of Douglasville Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Michael Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
