Minnie Lee Yancey Collins

Mrs. Minnie Lee Yancey Collins, 93, of Lithia Springs, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 17, 2006. She was born August 5, 1913 in Douglasville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Edward Yancey and the late Mrs. Verdie Yeager Yancey. She married Paul Collins on August 7, 1932. She was a member of Lithia Springs First Baptist Church since 1947 where she was dedicated to teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She worked for the Douglas County School System for over 20 years in the cafeteria. She enjoyed reading, knitting and was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Collins; four brothers and two sisters; and a grandson, James Patrick Collins. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Cole of Villa Rica; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Susanne Collins of Powder Springs, Jimmy and Cloa Collins of Powder Springs, and Eugene Collins of Marietta; sisters, Estelle Yancey of Douglasville, Ruth Raper of Lithia Springs, and Jean Meek of Douglasville; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs with Dr. Marion Beaver and Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating. Mrs. Collins will lie in state at the church from 10:30 AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Monday, December 18, 2006 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. Messages of condolences may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com.
