Miss Martha Hazel Johnston

Miss Martha Hazel Johnston, 90, of Conyers, Georgia, formally of Rocky Branch Road, Villa Rica, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Traditions Health and Rehab Center in Lithonia. She was born January 27, 1917 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. John C. Johnston and the late Mrs. Mattie Smith Johnston. Miss Johnston was a longtime member of the Midway Macedonia Baptist Church having joined at the age of 12. She played the piano and was a beautiful and talented seamstress. She retired from Nabisco Bakery Company in Atlanta. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hilda Johnston Henslee and Helen Johnston Cansler She is survived by her nieces and nephews-in-law; Jane and Wayne Scott, Carol Anne and Gary Townsend all of Conyers and Nancy and Dan Abercrombie of Monroe. One nephew and niece-in-law, Dale and Tammy Cansler of PA a number of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2007 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Private Estates at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Friday, September 21, 2007 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
