Misty Wade Chandler-Watts, 46, of Carrollton, GA, passed away on September 19, 2025. She was born on November 14, 1978, the daughter of the late Wesley Wade Chandler and Donna Elsberry Ricks.
Misty dedicated her life to making a difference in the world around her. As the President of the non-profit organization Hickory Level Hound Rescue, she embodied her rescue motto: "Saving one life at a time." Her unwavering commitment to animal welfare inspired countless others to join her cause and ensure that dogs received the love and care they deserved.
A proud graduate of Villa Rica High School, class of 1997, Misty carried her community spirit with her throughout her life. She was known for her straightforward personality and zest for life, always living each day to the fullest and treating every moment as precious. Misty found joy in many activities, including cooking, crocheting, and spending quality time with her beloved children and family.
Her love for her dogs was evident in every aspect of her life; they were not just pets but cherished members of her family. Misty's nurturing spirit extended well beyond her immediate family, as she poured her heart into her community, striving to uplift those around her and instill hope in every life she touched.
She thought that in her passing she would be reunited with all rescued animals at Rainbow Bridge.
Misty’s legacy is marked by her kindness, her passionate dedication to her work, and the countless hearts she impacted throughout her life.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed Elsberry; Bill and Becky Moore; and Vester Chandler.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Adam Watts; daughter, Maya Watts (Alex Pineda) of Carrollton, GA; son, Maverick Watts (Hailey Griffin) of Carrollton, GA; mother and father, Donna Elsberry Ricks and Terry Ricks of Temple GA; sisters, Tamra (Chris) Gaines of Carrollton, GA, Terri Lynn (Chris) Valentine of Temple, GA, Jessi (Russell) Gilbert of Temple, GA; brother, Zeke (Lindsey) Ricks of Haralson County, GA; granddaughter, Waverley; grandmother, Barbara Elsberry of Villa Rica, GA; sister-in-law, Abbie Jackson of Carrollton, GA; father-in-law, Ricky Watts or Carrollton, GA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel.
Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 4:00 PM at 3361 Hwy 101, Rockmart, GA 30153.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to inspire acts of compassion and love in the world.
