Morris Anthony Iles, Jr., age 77, passed away at his home on May 13, 2024. He was born on February 8, 1947, in Sanford, North Carolina to the late Mr. Morris Anthony Iles, Sr. and the late Mrs. Thelma Amelia Jackson Iles.
He was instrumental in the development of the Park Heights Community Development organization in 1999. He was once president of the organization. This organization was dedicated to community development and housing.
Morris was also dedicated to working with a rehabilitation ministry in Maryland. The ministry was dedicated to spiritual rebirth to fight addictive behavior. Morris loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He believed in the healing power of our Lord and Savior and the forgiveness and mercy of the Lord.
Morris's impact extended beyond his professional achievements. His role as a deacon in Baltimore emphasized his spiritual devotion and commitment to serving others. A proud Army veteran, Morris valued discipline and service throughout his life. His passions included reading the Bible and offering assistance wherever possible.
In addition to his parents, Morris is preceded in death by his brother, Karl Eric Iles.
He is survived by his children, Richard Anthony Iles, Gayle Iles, Tanya Iles-Ruffin, Santonio Lance, Marlo Yarrell, Morris X. Iles-Joyner; sisters, Adrienne Iles-Holt (Ernest Williams Jr.), and Denise Angel Iles (Joseph Paterno); former wife, Barbara Iles, mother of a number of his children; and latter wife, Dr. Mary Iles; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins along with cherished friends.
The memorial service will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. 2189 Midway Road, Douglasville, GA 30135
