Mr. Charles Harris Greene

Mr. Charles Harris Greene, 76, of Kings Walk, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. He was born January 10, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Fred Greene and the late Mrs. Catherine Alsobrook Greene. He married Janice Banks on July 28, 1950 in College Park, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from AT&T as a Switchboard Analyst. He was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He served as a past deacon of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his family. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Banks Greene of Douglasville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Lori Greene of Carrollton, Rick and Debbie Greene of Fayetteville, and Fred Greene of Douglasville; one sister and brother in law, Mildred and Dorsey Estes of Cumming; five grandchildren, Missy and Joey Ford, Alisha Greene, Stephanie Greene, Justin Greene, and Nicole Greene; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica, Georgia. The following will serve as pallbearers: Charles Bice, Grey Terrell, Charlie Greenspead, Bob Butler, Ben Amberson, Gary Rumph, Dave Conner, Pat Langston, and Bobby Rumph. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Friday, July 14, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
