Mr. Chester D. Conner, age 75, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell. He was born January 29, 1931 in Haralson County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Doyle Conner and the late Mrs. Gussie Wright Conner. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He retired as a salesman from Colonial Baking Company. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where he worked after his retirement. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Bryant Conner; sisters, Beulah Morman and Mildred Lyle and brothers, William Conner and AV and wife Cylene Conner; brother-in-law, James Tyson. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude âTrudyâ Martin Conner of Lithia Springs; one daughter, Sandy Martin Conner of Hiram; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cathy E. Conner of Marietta, David and Sandy M. Conner of Hiram, and Eric and Ella Martin of Douglasville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lynn C. Tyson of Douglasville and Barbara and Gene Cohran of New Georgia; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Della Conner of Austell, Lucius and Millie Conner of Villa Rica, Charles and Sybil Conner of Taylorsville; 7 grandchildren, Crystal and Jason Olszyk, Michael J. Conner, II, Erin Conner, Chris Conner, Kathryn Conner, Joshua and Kristie Martin, and Jennifer Dover; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Mary and James Wix of Douglasville, Pat Cantrell and Tony Bzura of Michigan; Roger and Betty Norton of Douglasville, Ray Norton of DeKalb County, Rev. Thomas and Maxine Norton of Newnan, Robert L. and Myrt Norton of Newnan, Wayne Lyle of Thomaston, Marcelle Conner Busby and Jack Busby of Villa Rica; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 27, 2006 at 2:00 PM from Midway United Methodist Church. He will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens with the following serving as pallbearers: Joshua Martin, Michael Conner, Chris Conner, Jason Olszyk, Charles Lawrence, and Bill Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be THE ROMEO and the Midway United Methodist Church Menâs Fellowship. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
