Mr. Edward Henry Smith, 78, of Sterling Pointe, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 26, 2005 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta. He was born August 7, 1927 in Manchester, Jamaica the son of the late Mr. Albert Smith and the late Mrs. Mable Charlton Smith. He married Iris Fox on July 26, 1958 in Jamaica, West Indies. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his youngest son, Dale Smith. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Iris Fox Smith of Douglasville; one daughter, Pamela Dowe of Douglasville; five sons, Michael Smith, Sr. of New York, Courtney Smith of Orlando, FL, Gary Smith of Douglasville, Neil Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Nigel Smith of New York; one sister, Susan Warren of Port Charlotte, FL; one brother, Jasper Smith of Manchester, Jamaica; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, September 30, 2005 at 2:00 PM from St. Theresaâs Catholic Church with Father Richard Tibbetts officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2005 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 30, 2005 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
