Mr. George Donald Wadsworth, age 94, of Lithia Springs, Georgia; passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born May 9, 1913 in Harmon, Illinois; the son of the late Mr. Charles Wadsworth and the late Mrs. Laureta Young Wadsworth. Mr. Wadsworth was a veteran, having served as a Major in the United States Army during World War II; an active member of the Rotary Club for over fifty years; and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Marietta. Mr. Wadsworth was owner of Wadsworth & Company and chairman of Wadsworth White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Ester Voeltz Wadsworth; a son, Billy Wadsworth, a sister, Iola Wadsworth; and four brothers, Chet Wadsworth, Doug Wadsworth, Bill Wadsworth, and John Wadsworth. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Carolyn Boldt Wadsworth; daughters and son in-laws, Joanne and Kel Kelley of Douglasville; and Georgia and Tony Ingraham of Tucson, Arizona; two grandsons and granddaughter in-law, Tommy and Stephanie Griffiths and David Ahamd; two great grandsons, Hunter Griffiths and Alan Griffiths; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Marietta, Georgia with Pastor Gregory Walton officiating. Mr. Wadsworth will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
