Mr. Homer Leon King, 77, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Wesley Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born March 29, 1929 in Heard County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Comer Leon King and the late Mrs. Edna Christine Horton King. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. Mr. King was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for AT&T as a supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Billie Anne Groover King. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Suzanne King Phillips and Van Phillips of Villa Rica and Jennifer Christine King Hargett and William B. Hargett of Atlanta; his sister and brother-in-law, Tavia and Joe Smith of Sevierville, Tennessee; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Reba King of Marietta and Charles Robert and Charlotte King of Carrollton; and grandsons, Clifton Davis Phillips of Villa Rica and Preston King Phillips of Villa Rica. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Pallbearers will be Davis Phillips, Preston Phillips, Richard Smith, Larry Boss, Gary Smallwood and Edmond Sauls. Interment will follow at Bowdon City Cemetery in Bowdon, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
