Mr. John Leonard Landers, 82, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama formerly of Carroll County, GA passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born January 20, 1923 in Lawrenceville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Elmer Landers and the late Mrs. Netocris Etheridge Landers. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a U.S. Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II and worked as a diesel mechanic. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Patsy Maley Landers; daughter, Carol Diane Dean; sons, John Michael Landers and Melvin Eugene Landers. He is survived by two daughters, Helen Spain and Cathy Sellers Barden both of Tuscaloosa, AL; one son, James Leonard Landers of Douglasville; one sister, Codell Fuller of Mableton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel in Douglasville on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
