Mr. Leroy and Mrs. Alice Head

Leroy Samuel Head and his beloved wife of fifty seven years, Alice Head, both 82, of Villa Rica, Georgia departed from this life Saturday, March 8, 2008 just hours apart. Mr. Head was born March 10, 1925 in Douglas County, Georgia the son of the late Levi Samuel Head and Annie Morris Head. Mr. Head was a retired machinist and a member of the Holiness Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. Mrs. Head was born April 13, 1925 in White County, Georgia the daughter of the late Paul Napolean Elliott and the late Betsy Balock Elliott . Mrs. Head was a retired seamstress and a member of the Holiness Church. In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by son, Gary Roper; Mr. Head’s sister, Iris Henslee; brothers, Donald and Raymond Head; and Mrs. Head’s sister, Lorrine Thurmond. Survivors include daughter and son in-law, Beverly and Leonard Eaves of Carrollton; sons and daughters in-law, Paul Michael Sr. and Shelia Head of Villa Rica; son and daughter in-law, Wayne and Sharon Roper of Gainesville; daughter in-law, Patricia Roper of Gainesville; Mr. Head’s brother and sister in-law, Hugh Dorsey and Joyce Head of Powder Springs; Mrs. Head’s sisters, Mildred Elliott of Cleveland, Georgia; and Beatrice McAllister of Clarksville; brothers and sisters in-law, Garvice and Beula Mae Elliott; and Farrell and Geneva Elliott all of Cleveland, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
