Mr. Marvin McCollum, Jr., 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at his residence. He was born may 31, 1926 in Meridian, MS the son of the late Mr. Marvin L. McCollum, Sr. and the late Mrs. Betty Taylor McCollum. He married Geneva Todd September 5, 1954 in Quitman, MS. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during World War II. He worked as an equipment operator for the City of Atlanta, for 15 years he served as a bus driver for the Douglas County School System and was known as âMr. Macâ. He enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Geneva Todd McCollum of Douglasville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Carroll Price of Douglasville and Jeanine McCollum-Craig and Randy Craig of Villa Rica; one son and daughter in law, Marvin Wayne and Teresa McCollum of Douglasville; one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Bill Lee of Quitman, MS; 5 grandchildren, Zula Lee Clark, Lauren Price, Courtney McCollum, Katrina Price, Brandon McCollum; 2 great-grandchildren, Danielle Thacker and Haiden Price; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Williams and Rev. Mack Lively officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
