Mrs. Fannie Ruth Stewart, age 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital following an extended illness. She was born December 22, 1927 in Carroll County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Wilson and the late Mrs. Henri Etta Price Wilson. She was a member of Cowan Mills Baptist Church and formerly attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. She served in the church choir, as a Sunday school teacher, and in vacation bible school. Mrs. Stewart was a substitute teacher in the Douglas County School System. She was also a nurse aid and caregiver. She was very community minded and enjoyed serving people. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Joel Darren Stewart; brother, James Wilson and sister, Nellie Kate Marks. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Reginia and Jimmy McCullough of Fairburn and Lisa and Mark Entrekin of Douglasville; her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Susan Stewart, Gene and Connie Stewart and Wayne and Kelly Stewart all of Douglasville; sister, Lucille Robinson of Bowdon; brothers, Andrew Wilson of Bowdon and J.W. Wilson of Dahlonega; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Dusty Wammack officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating. . The following will serve as pallbearers: Nick McCullough, Kyle McCullough, Jason Stewart, Jaydon Entrekin, Richard Hill and Chad Lawing. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Monday, January 19, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
