Mrs. Gladys E. Garner, 77, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born April 11, 1929 in Bartow County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Marion Lee Otis Garner and the late Mrs. Almaga Thomas Garner. She was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a seamstress. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed sewing. She served as a pianist for her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marshall Garner; sisters, Thelma Alline Parson, Evelyn Thomason, and Madeline Thompson; and her brother, Rev. Jim Garner. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Elizabeth Garner Ellis of Douglasville; one son, Charles “Mack” Garner of Marietta; 3 grandchildren, April Dawn Traylor, Chad Matthew Garner, and Amy Yvonne Sesler; 7 great-grandchildren, Zachary Hinds, Lexi Traylor, Joshua Hinds, Elizabeth Traylor, Bailee Sesler, Jessica Sesler and Samantha Sesler; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Priest and Rev. Neil Williams officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Corky and Carolyn Cheek and Mrs. Lillian Ward. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Charles “Mack” Garner, Leldon Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Adam Garner, Stephen Martin, and Chad Garner. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Friday, June 30, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
