Mrs. Jewell Cash McBrayer, age 92, of Old Bush Mill Road, Bremen, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born December 19, 1913 in Bremen, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James Nathan Cash and the late Mrs. Essie Smith Cash. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist for over 50 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a music teacher for many years and enjoyed passing on her love of music to her many students. Mrs. McBrayer and her family had a live music broadcast on the Bremen (WGMI and WLBB) Radio Station for over 50 years. She served as pianist for various quartets and musical groups. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Candler Durrett McBrayer and her sisters, Dorene Entrekin and Mable Gaddis. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Laura McBrayer, Duane and Martha McBrayer, and Durrell and Elaine McBrayer all of Bremen; two sisters, Shirley Brown of Bremen and Stella Norton of Buchanan; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 AM from Bethel Baptist Church in Bremen with Rev. Van Brown officiating. Mrs. McBrayer will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Musical Tributes will be rendered by Community Choir under the direction of Billy McElroy accompanied by Sue Ezzell and Maxine House. . Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Keith McBrayer, Cris McBrayer, Darren McBrayer, Casey McBrayer, Kevin McBrayer, and Scott McBrayer. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
