Mrs. Thelma Lumpkin Allen

Mrs. Thelma Lumpkin Allen, age 76, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Douglasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born November 6, 1931 the daughter of the late Mr. Tom Lumpkin and the late Mrs. Evelyn Rogers Lumpkin. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Douglasville. Throughout her life she worked for Sears & Roebuck, Lamar’s Clothing Store, Liberty Mutual, and the Douglas County Tag Office where she retired. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her only son. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Allen of Douglasville; one son, Jerry Wayne Allen of Douglasville; one sister, Joyce Huey of Douglasville; nieces and nephews, of Aragon and Rockmart, GA; cousins, Mable and Jimmy William of Atlanta and Sandra Williams of Atlanta. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Wood officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Patricia Worley, Louvenia Brown, Earline Bennett, and Betty Morris. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, November 24, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
