Mrs. Willie M. Barker, 69, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born April 12, 1939 in White Plains, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. William Ben Pruitt and the late Mrs. Velma Mae Frames Pruitt. She was of the Baptist Faith. She retired as a Dispatch Service Order Writer for Bellsouth/AT&T and was a member of the Communications Workers of America for over 30 years. She was a member of the AARP Chapter #4554. She enjoyed and was very active in genealogy research. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Winboan Edwin Reece and brother, James Arvis Pruitt. She is survived by her husband, William Allen Barker of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Stephen McManners of Dallas and Betty and Aaron Clark of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, David Alan and Millie Barker of Fayetteville and William Buel and Brenda Barker of Pembroke; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Belle and Richard Chambliss of Marietta and Janice Marie Smith of Marietta; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family is receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
