Myrtle Mae Couch Shepherd

Mrs. Myrtle Mae Couch Shepherd, 92, of West Ranchette Road, Temple, Georgia passed away Monday, December 26, 2005 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. She was born September 3, 1913, in Douglas County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John Callaway Couch and the late Emma Camilla George Couch. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of Utopia Baptist Church in Villa Rica. She worked as a spooler in the textile industry at the Villa Rica Cotton Mill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, A. E. Shepherd, her children, Donald Shepherd, Mary Janice Shepherd Hackney, Katherine Keith and Linda Emory, her brothers, Leroy Couch, Lenard Couch and William Guy Couch and her sister, Emma Lou Easterwood. Survivors include her six daughters, Jean Henson of Temple, Dorothy Clay of Villa Rica, Betty Smith of Villa Rica, Durann Jarriel of Villa Rica, Lula Mae Keith of Villa Rica, and Rita Smith of Carrollton; five sons, Johnny Shepherd of Winston, Ronald Shepherd of Villa Rica, Junior Shepherd of Villa Rica, James Shepherd of Villa Rica and Danny Shepherd of Bremen; 49 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Marty Hulsey and Rev. Lamar Parson officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary Shepherd, Anthony Shepherd, Lee Clay, Ray Emory, Cory Smith and Derek Parm. Interment will follow in the Private Estates at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2005 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM and Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
