I was born in Carrollton, Georgia on July 30, 1925. I attended Elementary School in Carroll County and 2 years is Rossville, Georgia. I graduated from Bowdon High School in 1943.
I married JQ Mosley at the age of 17 on November 25, 1942. I finished my senior year of school after we were married.
JQ was drafted in 1942, and in 1943 started having many health problems. He was placed in Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC as an experimental patient with Penicillin. I joined him in Washington the day after I graduated. He was given a Medical Discharge later in 1943.
After JQ was discharged we moved to East Atlanta where I worked with Sears Roebuck in Accounting for 2 years. We were members of Moreland Avenue Baptist Church where we helped start a mission Church, Lake View where JQ was ordained as a Deacon and we were Charter Members.
After working at Sears for 2 years I went to work at Atlanta Gas Light where I worked for 12 and ½ years. We later moved to Ben Hill and joined Ben Hill Baptist Church. We had been married for over 15 years and were unable to have children, and that is when we decided to adopt. In May of 1957 God gave us a precious 6 month old baby girl Renee'. Three years later Renee' begin to pray for a sister, and God gave us Melinda who was 2 and ½ months old. We prayed for a long time, asking God to just loan us these little girls to share our life with, and in return we would give them back to Him. These were the happiest years of our lives as we watched our girls grow! They both gave their hearts to Jesus while we were at Ben Hill Baptist Church.
Our next move was to Lithia Springs where we were members of Lithia Springs First Baptist Church for 15 years. Now my girls were almost grown and I decided to go back to work at JC Penney in accounting. I worked there for 26 years and I retired in 1999.
God has given me a wonderful life and I thank him for adopting me into His kingdom at the age of 15. Thank you for my precious husband that you blessed me with for 63 years, and for watching over me when you called him home on March 18th, 2005. Thank you for allowing me to work with children for 25 years is Sunday School and GA's, teaching your word to young 9 year old girls. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Gideon's ministry, and Thank You for letting me be a part of my last Church, County Line Baptist Church.
