Mrs. Myrtle Pitter, 85, of Douglasville, Georgia, formerly of New York City, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born August 9, 1922 in Forest, MS the daughter of the late Mr. Albert Thomas and the late Mrs. Isabelle Forte Thomas. She was a member of Metropolitan United Community Methodist Church in New York City. Mrs. Pitter was a teacher and later worked as a transit worker for the New York City Transit System. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Pitter and son, William Thomas and five brothers. She is survived by her son, Ronald Thomas of Douglasville; sisters, Dorothy M. Parks of Queens, NY and Lillie R. Moore of Douglasville; brother, Clifford Thomas of Gulfport, MS; a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 7:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with rev. Sheldon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Queens, New York. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
