Nancy Elizabeth Hunt Thigpen

Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Hunt Thigpen, age 64, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital following an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James Hunt and the late Mrs. Tinie Cochran Hunt. She married Bennie Ray Thigpen on April 26, 1963 in Douglasville. She retired from Southern Bell-AT&T as a clerk. She enjoyed crafts and painting. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping trips. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bennie Ray Thigpen of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Kenneth Carroll of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Sonya Thigpen of Douglasville; and Scott Thigpen and Wendy Wetzel of Douglasville; grandchildren, Brett Carroll, Andy Thigpen, Jacob Thigpen, Zachary Thigpen and Gage Thigpen; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Padgett officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
