Nathan Dell Canup

Mr. Nathan Dell Canup, age 89, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born July 25, 1934 in Sacramento, California to the late Mrs. Effie Ferguson Canup. Nathan was a simple man with a sweet soul. One of Nathan's greatest passions was food. Nathan always appreciated a good meal. With Thanksgiving being his favorite time of year, he would eagerly await the holiday to indulge in all the traditional dishes. In addition to his love for food, Nathan found solace in reading. He particularly enjoyed reading newspapers, as they connected him to the world around him. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Canup; son, Steve Mooney.

He is survived by his daughters, Elaine (Larry) Darsey of Douglasville and Lorraine Collins of Douglasville; sons, Stanley (Sherry) Mooney of Snellville, Wesley Mooney, Terry Mooney of Douglasville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
