Mrs. Nellie Irene Cole Chambers, 85, of Palmetto, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, at her residence. She was born April 11, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Loveng Wright Cole and Mrs. Hettie Parrish Cole. Mrs. Chambers was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Douglasville, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Mr. Lowell D. Chambers, Sr.; children, Doug Chambers and wife Sandi; Janet Disque and husband Lyn; Mike Chambers and wife Sheila; Debbie Cox and husband Wayne; Cindy Cheney and husband Mark; Cricket Strickland and husband Strick; sister in-law, Evangeline Cole; niece, Sandi Austin and husband Buddy; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia with Pastor Dan Houston officiating. Interment will follow in Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, April 16, 2007 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
