Nicole Marie Southerland

With great sadness and deep love, we honor the memory of Nicole Marie Southerland, fondly known as “Nicki” or “Nicolo”, who passed away on August 19, 2026, in Douglasville, Georgia. She was born on March 30, 1970, in Brooklyn, New York, to Ms. Marvia Martin Miller and to the late Mr. Ronald L. Southerland

Nicole touched the lives of everyone around her with a warmth and vibrancy that was as infectious as it was genuine. She lived a life marked by compassion, humor, and devotion to her loved ones. She brought laughter wherever she went, her fun-loving spirit and sharp sense of humor instantly making those around her feel at home. Protective and deeply loyal, Nicole could always be counted on to lift spirits, to defend those she cared about, and to bring lightness even to the toughest days. She was the kind of presence who made every gathering memorable and every silence comfortable.

Education was a deep part of Nicole's journey. Her determination and intellect were evident in her pursuit and attainment of a master’s degree in accounting. This lead Nicole to work in medical billing, applying her diligence and attention to detail to a field that tirelessly supports those in need. Her career was more than a job; it was an extension of her caring nature and her dedication to the wellbeing of others.

Outside of her professional life, Nicole’s hobbies and interests were vivid expressions of her personality. She found joy and tranquility in crocheting, creating beautiful and thoughtful items that she often shared with those she loved. In quieter moments, she cherished curling up to watch Tyler Perry movies and TV shows, relishing both the laughter and heartwarming stories that mirrored her own love for joy and family.

Of all her accomplishments, Nicole was proudest of her two sons, Jordan and Andre, and her family. They were the center of her universe, the source of her greatest joy, and her legacy of love. Those who knew Nicole remember her not just for what she did, but for who she was—a beacon of love, humor, and kindness.

In addition to her mother, Nicole is survived by her sons, Jordan Bilbro, and Andre Cook; grandson, Sincere; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Nicole was cremated.
