Mrs. Norma Darlene Briscoe Cole, 73, of Douglasville, formerly of Royston, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. She was born December 18, 1943 in Royston, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Fletcher Briscoe and the late Mrs. Gussie Stevens Briscoe. She was a retired Registered Nurse of Parkway Medical Center in Lithia Springs. She was a member of the South Cobb Baptist Church. She was a devoted Girl Scout leader for many years, loved to bowl and play tennis as well as enjoyed being a substitute school teacher. She loved to entertain her family and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Briscoe and great nephew, Ryen King. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Mr. Ira Tate Cole of Douglasville, two daughters and son-in-law, Stephanie Winn of Douglasville, Georgia, Sonya and Jason Strickland of Acworth, three grandchildren: Austin and Rebecca Smith of Villa Rica, Christopher Pope of Champaign, IL, Erin Winn of Atlanta; one great-grandchild, Caleb Smith of Villa Rica, sisters: Jean Dove of Royston, Lois Smith of Cumming, Jackie Coley of Anderson, South Carolina, Becky Pulliam of Royston, Debbie Campbell on Royston, Cathy Hayes of Royston, Sandra Hendrix of Royston, brothers: Ralph Briscoe of Riverdale, Bobby Briscoe of Royston, Don Briscoe of Royston, caregiver, Dianne Rustin, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM.
