Norman "Bud" Childers, Jr.

Mr. Norman Bullard “Bud” Childers, Jr., age 58, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born January 12, 1952 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of the late Mr. Norman Bullard Childers and the late Mrs. Allene Mae Harris Childers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Carolyn Kay Ancion on July 10, 1972 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Mr. Childers enjoyed his work as a truck driver for The Kroger Company. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and had a fun loving personality. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mrs. Carolyn Kay Childers of Lithia Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Heather Childers of Dover, Delaware and Darrell and Nicole Childers of South Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Schrader of Houston, TX and Susan and Mike Carr of Buford, GA; brother, Ricky Childers of Coffee, GA; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Adair officiating. The family will receive at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Messages of condolences to the family may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com.
