Norman Earp

Mr. Norman Earl Earp, age 73, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Cartersville Heights Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness. He was born June 21, 1938 in Durham, North Carolina the son of the late Mr. Earl Samuel Earp and the late Mrs. Audrey Inez Lloyd Earp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a Staff Sergeant. He worked as a reporter for the Durham Herald and later worked as a bread delivery driver for Sunbeam. He was of the Baptist Faith and played guitar in church regularly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Bass Earp on September 3, 2008 and his sister, Doris Ruth Holmes on November 3, 2010. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela J. Leskanic and Jiri George Georgiev of St. Petersburg, FL, Kim and Leo Parker of Dallas, GA, Gina and Trevor Mixon of Panama City, FL, Theresa Ann and Barry Gonzalez of Douglasville, GA, Tina Elizabeth and Dion Bray of Florida; son, Stephen Lynn Gossett of Florida; stepmother, Louise Earp of North Carolina; stepsister, Joyce Apple of North Carolina; stepbrother, Eddie Hobby of North Carolina; close relatives, Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Kenyon and Ramona Wright of North Carolina; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Tim Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Pamela J. Leskanic, 7250 12th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
