Mr. Norman James Spivey, age 64, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. He was born November 12, 1950 in Floyd County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. James William Spivey and the late Mrs. Vester Mae Qualls Spivey. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician working for Mead-West Vaco for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Gayla Garner Spivey of Douglasville; three daughters, Christie Spivey of Canton, Kerensa Washington of Douglasville, Jessica Spivey of Douglasville; two sons, Cory Spivey of Blairsville, Allen Raines of Cross Hill, SC; two sisters, Linda Carter of Douglasville, Marilyn Pope of Atlanta; twelve grandchildren, Amber Key, Jamie Robinson, Marie Robinson, Thomas Stone, Savannah Gabriel, Tony Maxwell, Nick Sargent, Austin Spivey, Kaley Spivey, Cameron Spivey, Madison Spivey, Adam Raines; one great- grandchild, Erica Silvers; Several nieces and nephew also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.
